Hillary Clinton lends campaign more cash
Former Democratic Party U.S. presidential candidate Sen. Hillary Clinton is having trouble retiring her campaign debt and has lent it more money, records show.
Federal Election Commission records show Clinton, D-N.Y., lent her suspended campaign organization $1 million in personal funds June 30, taking her total personal contributions to her presidential run up to $13.2 million, The New York Times (NYSE:NYT) reported Monday.
Meanwhile, her debt totals continued to grow. Records indicated Clinton owed $10.4 million to vendors at the end of May but a month later that figure has risen to $12 million.
Clinton spokesman Mo Elleithee told the Times the latest $1 million loan was made to "pay immediately outstanding debts."
